So forwarding to today, Ring Alarm Pro with a 512GB Lexar SD Card, 20% used up already and enjoying the device.

Sadly you have to buy the Ring Alarm Pro to get this feature, which comes with a built in eero (which imo is silly, but being that I work in the IT field, I know I can just turn this feature off and have it as an extension or not) and upgrade to the new $200/year plan, which again kinda sucks but having local storage is a big plus for me and the fact that we live on a busy street, anything could happen. Its the ability to store your videos locally via Micro SD Card and offers backup internet whenever the power is out or something else with the internet happens (Oh we will get there with AWS going out today).

So I saw that Ring Alarm Pro has a really nice feature that I have been somewhat wanting for a long time with Ring, since we get about 1 to 2 power outages a year (lots of trees and high winds in Midwest - used to it) Ring calls it "Ring Edge". That alone is a another story for itself, but its been since 2017 that we've had a Ring device and it has saved us since (2018 one of our cars was hit and ran by the neighbors roommate, and he was charged and found guilty, thanks to Ring catching him) The reason we ended up getting Ring all along is that we witnessed our neighbor using that private way, and damaging our cars. Not a big deal, except the front also has a private walkway to a driveway, which I'm responsible for. This means that our neighbor (since I am in the front) has to walk by ours to get to theirs. The way our duplex housing is setup is that each unit gets a common sidewalk for each neighbor and one neighbor is in the "front" of the unit and one is in the "back". I've had a floodlight and doorbell since Ring was not even thought of being bought by Amazon. Apologizes if its long - also first post - I usually just snoop around. (AND can't view the videos on my laptop either ) TL DR - Ring Alarm Pro must have been released super fast and barely thought of - with the outage today all my "Ring Edge" (Local Storage) videos never processed but the cloud ones did, defeating the ENTIRE redundancy of having local storage.
